With the official addition of four “new” elements, the seventh row of the periodic table is now complete!

Last week the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) made it official: ununtrium, ununpentium, ununseptium, and ununoctium are now part of the periodic table of elements! While scientists have known of these elements for some time, enough evidence has finally been compiled to warrant their addition to the table. In the coming months these elements will receive new names and their official symbols…and we will all be frantically updating our resources to reflect these updates!
