From professional development to chemistry competitions!

Last month, we trained 13 new Certified Instructors to lead our Essential Elements professional development workshops for K-8 educators. These professionals traveled to Washington, DC, and spent two days learning how to walk educators through a 5E learning cycle, emphasizing student-led exploration. And then two of those instructors went home and started local You Be The Chemist Challenge® sites!

The Challenge program has expanded to Rhode Island and Maine this year, thanks to the dedication and initiative of those educators. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome students from both of those states to the National Challenge in Philadelphia on June 20, 2016!
