CEF and Dow Bring Authentic Science Experience to Delaware School

Thanks to a generous donation from The Dow Chemical Company, students at Jones Elementary School in Delaware are finally able to experience real chemical reactions! Dow donated 50 safety goggles to the new You Be The Chemist^® (YBTC) after school program, run by Certified Instructor, Janice Trainer. The after school program uses YBTC Activity Guide experiments and students are learning science through fun, hands-on activities.

The after school program occurs every Monday, which is now a very important day for the students involved. When asked what they think of the new program and the authentic safety goggles the students said: “we get to use real chemicals,” “the chemical reactions are the best” and “we learn about chemistry and it’s fun!”
