Students find science lessons outside the classroom.

The Afterschool Alliance, a nonprofit group that advocates for quality afterschool programming, recently released a special report called “Full STEM Ahead,” based on data from their 2014 “America After 3pm” survey. Among other findings, they report that 69% of parents say their children have STEM learning opportunities in their afterschool programs, that satisfaction with these programs is high, and that these programs activate students’ interest in STEM and allow them to immerse themselves in new topics.

At CEF, we’ve been working with a variety of afterschool programs to incorporate our Activity Guide lessons into their curricula, so we’re excited to hear about how much students benefit from afterschool STEM programs!
